Newsflash

gDial is currently inactive! If you purchased a subscription we will be refunding and crediting your account in the next day. It became increasingly difficult to support gDial with the ongoing changes at Google and Palm. We loved creating something that so many users really enjoyed using when it worked well

What is Visual Voicemail?

Visual Voicemail is a free application for the Pixi and the Pre that allows you to get a quick look of your Google and/or Sprint voicemails and listen to them.

How do I install Visual Voicemail?

First – you must have a Google Voice account. If you do not have one you can apply at Google.com/voice, ask one of your friends to invite you, or find an invite on ebay at a relatively inexpensive price (a few bucks up to $5).

Once you have your Google Voice account you’ll need to set your mobile number up at the phones tab.

  • Make sure you have it properly marked as mobile.
  • Make sure you activate Google Voicemail on this phone (The link next to your phone in the setting tab).
  • Under settings there are different options and abilities. You can record your own greeting, decide which calls are sent to your phone and which ones should be sent to a recording, etc.

Next you need to install the Visual Voice app. To do this just go to the app store and search for “visual voice.” Download and run the application. When you start VV you’ll be asked for your Google username and password. This is the email address associated with your Google account.

If you want to use VV with your regular mobile number in addition to your Google number then the new update has a button to do this. It is a special dial code that the phone dials to forward the voicemail to go to GV instead of Sprint. There is a special option in the help screen to turn it on or off.
